Seattle - RealNetworks, a provider of media delivery technology, on Wednesday announced a multi-year agreement under which it will bundle the Google Toolbar and Mozilla Firefox Web browser along with its RealPlayer media player software. The deal builds on a previous two-year relationship that saw Real distribute millions of Google Toolbar applications. Seattle-based RealNetworks said it regularly distributes more than 2 million pieces of software a day worldwide.

Paris - The companies developing the MPEG Surround audio codec -- Agere Systems, Coding Technologies, Philips and the Fraunhofer Institute -- announced on Thursday that they will demonstrate the technology at the Audio Engineering Society Expo in Paris this month. They said MPEG Surround will reduce bit rate requirements for high quality multi-channel audio compression while maintaining compatibility with existing stereo equipment.

Mountain View, Calif. - Wireless audio technology developer Aerielle on Wednesday introduced the Timeless Radio, an Internet radio recorder and streaming device that stores programming to an iPod or other digital media player. The device, for which pricing details have not been announced, also contains an Internet radio electronic program guide developed by Radio Time. Mountain View, Calif.-based Aerielle said the Timeless Radio will be available through major retailers in the fall.

Las Vegas - Audio technology developer SRS Labs on Wednesday introduced its SRS Mobile HD technology, which enables mobile TV broadcasts and digital video downloads available in 5.1 audio to be heard in surround sound on headphones for mobile phones and portable media players. SRS Labs said SRS Mobile HD will initially be available on devices using Microsoft's Windows Mobile.
