HarperCollins Debuts Authonomy Social Network

London - Publisher HarperCollins has launched a social network for aspiring authors, Authonomy.com, where members will be tasked with reading sample chapters and manuscripts with an eye towards discovering new talent, FT.com reports. HarperCollins has pledged to read the ten top-rated submissions to the site each month; the company generally received 50 submissions each week. The invite-only version of Authonomy attracted 1,200 members and 360 submissions.
