New York - Rolling Stone recently posted an interview with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, and reports that his iPod contains songs from artists including Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Earth, Wind and Fire, Jay-Z, Howlin' Wolf, Yo-Yo Ma and Sheryl Crow. "If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder," Obama told RS. "When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with "Music of My Mind," "Talking Book," "Fulfillingness' First Finale" and "Innervisions," and then "Songs in the Key of Life." Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we've ever seen."

Authored by Jay Baage on June 12, 2008 - 6:26am.

The 12th Annual Webby Awards Gala, which recognize the best and most important sites on the Web, was held June 10th at Cipriani Wall St. Embedded above is a good video synopsis of events from the Wall Street Journal. I think that it's noteworthy that much of the web content being recognized was in one way or another Barack Obama endorsements. It is hard to say how much these websites and videos had to do with Obama clinching the Democratic presidential nomination, but I think it's fair to say that it definently shows the growing importance of new media in determining the outcome of major political events.

Celebrity support for presidential candidates is nothing new, nor is the negative impact such support can often garner. It has led some of the 2008 candidates to form looser ties with celebrities than in years past, but one celebrity and her choice for president – Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama – have formed a bond in the last several months that would lead observers to question whether the two are considering a Prez-VP run at the Oval Office.

Obama vs Clinton Who knew the 2008 election would be so sexy, so early?  Don’t you just love it?  Unofficial polls say people are tired (or bored) of Iraq.  Not sure what that means, but there you have it…the American people want something fresh.  They demand it.  And what better way to give it to them than with some hot, steamy internet video banter?  Does anyone doubt the relevance of that fast food treat called “YouTube” now?  I didn’t think so!  It’s here to stay, people, accept it.
