Report: BBC Developing Ad-Supported Music Service

London - BBC Worldwide is working on an ad-supported music service that would offer free streaming or paid downloads of songs and videos from the BBC archives, including live performances from its "Top of the Pops" and "Live Lounge" on Radio 1, New Media Age reported.

London - BBC Worldwide plans to launch a globally-available, commercial version of its free iPlayer service, which lets U.K. residents watch BBC programs for seven days online after their initial broadcast, PaidContent UK reported. The commercial version, for which further plans are expected to be announced yet this year, will "offer on-demand content licensed to it by the BBC on a commercial basis," to be made available after the seven-day period during which it is exclusively available on the free U.K. iPlayer.
