Ubisoft Signs Anthony Hopkins, Other Actors for "Beowulf" Game

San Francisco - Video game publisher Ubisoft has announced that actors including Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, Brendan Gleeson and Sebastien Roche will provide their voices and likenesses to the video game it is developing based on the upcoming Paramount Pictures film, "Beowulf." Ubisoft said the game, which is set for release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP and the PC next month, features exclusive content that is unexplored by the film and even in the original epic story.

San Diego - Mobile game publisher Gameloft has secured the rights to develop a mobile game based on Paramount Pictures' upcoming film adaptation of the epic tale, "Beowulf," GameDaily.biz reported. The France-based company, which has also developed mobile games for "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost," will offer the game in over 75 countries alongside the film's debut on Nov. 16.

Ubisoft Launches Casual Games Unit; Inks Deal for "Beowulf" Game

Paris - French video game publisher Ubisoft has launched a new dedicated casual games division, initially focusing on titles for the Nintendo Wii and DS. Forthcoming titles include "My Word Coach" and "My Life Coach," part of a new line of interactive learning games, in addition to new installments in its "Petz" franchise. The new division will be headed by Pauline Jacquey, the company's executive producer of casual games. Separately, the company said it has signed a deal to develop a game based on the Paramount Pictures/Shangri-La Entertainment film "Beowulf," based on the ancient saga.
