Beyonce Hatches "Single Ladies" Dance Video Contest

New York - Beyonce has launched a dance video contest that asks fans to create their own versions of her popular music video for "Single Ladies," with the winner to receive $2,500 and have their video shown during the singer's 2009 world tour performances. The contest is not strictly online, however, as submissions must be mailed "on a data DVD-ROM (not a playable DVD)," and "become the property of Music World Entertainment/Sony (NYSE: SNE) Music Entertainment."

Samsung Unveils Special Edition Beyonce "B'Phone"

New York - Korean electronics firm Samsung on Thursday introduced the Beyonce Special Edition B'Phone, a limited edition handset it will release exclusively to Sprint subscribers in the U.S. The dual-sided phone features the look of an MP3 player on one side and a phone on the other, Samsung said, and will feature exclusive video, music and photos from the Sony BMG/Columbia Records artist. The phone is slated to go on sale Nov. 4 from Sprint.com and in select Wal-Mart stores.

Fitty CentMediaTakeOut.com, “The Spot for Hip Hop Gossip,” pointed out in this clip from MTV’s Video Music Awards that rap superstar 50 Cent apparently dissed Beyonce when she won the award for “Most Earth Shattering Collaboration” for the song “Beautiful Liar” with Shakira.

Disney's Starwave Creates Mobile Content for Beyonce, "Scarface," "The Dozens"

Los Angeles - Disney's Starwave Mobile this week introduced the mobile game, voicetones, graphics and wallpapers it developed in collaboration with Universal Mobile Entertainment for the classic 1980's gangster film, "Scarface." The content is available through wireless carriers and directly through a Scarface mobile storefront. Separately, Starwave announced a publishing agreement with SMK Merchandising to publish mobile content based on the Wayans Brothers film "The Dozens." The company also secured licensing rights from Beyonce Inc. and Sony BMC to develop and publish a mobile game featuring the Grammy-winning singer, that will also feature sisters Dereon and Solange.
