Washington - Amid criticism from certain members of the academic community, educational software firm Blackboard pledged on Thursday that it will not use its patents to block educational institutions from developing their own open source e-learning systems.
Washington - Blackboard, a provider of technology services to universities and schools, announced that it has formed a partnership with Google. Under the deal, Blackboard will integrate various offerings and services with Google's search technology "to help facilitate deeper, more meaningful search capabilities for members of the academic community."
