Bebo, a UK social networking site, today announced the appointment of Angel Gambino to the newly-created position of Vice President, Music.  In her new role, Ms. Gambino will be responsible for helping artists and labels use Bebo's base of 31 million users worldwide, enabling them to extend their reach and form one-to-one relationships with their audience. She will also have responsibility for devising partnerships between artists and brands and retailers.

Blue Frog Mobile Debuts txtv Interactive TV Service

Seattle - Mobile entertainment publisher Blue Frog Mobile on Monday introduced its txtv service, which allows viewers to send text messages directly to their TV screens as they interact with programming. Seattle-based Blue Frog said that txtv fees can appear directly on a user's monthly mobile phone bill, adding that its broadcast partners will share in messaging revenue.

Mobile Entertainment Publisher Blue Frog Raises $16 Million

Seattle -- Blue Frog Mobile, a publisher of mobile entertainment for cell phones, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $16 million in its first round of venture capital financing. Canaan Partners led the investment round; MK Capital also participated. Seattle-based Blue Frog creates, aggregates and distributes mobile content such as ringtones, images, games and messaging services through sites including Ringtopia, Edge Tones, Mack Tones and Lemon Kiss. The company will use the funds to expand its content offering, strengthen its marketing and advertising activities and for product development.
