Apple Debuts iTunes Store in Mexico

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple (NASD: AAPL) said on Tuesday that it has launched a new version of its iTunes Store for the Mexican market. The site features a wide selection of Mexican and international music from all the major labels and hundreds of independent labels, with most songs priced at 12 pesos and most albums at 120 pesos. The Mexican iTunes Store will also provide access to the App Store for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. Separately, Apple announced the addition of a new Bob Marley & Wailers EP, and a number of out-of-print reggae albums from artists like the Heptones and Wailing Souls to the iTunes Store.

Verizon, Universal, Bob Marley Estate Battle Over Ringtones

San Francisco - Verizon Wireless briefly removed, then reinstated Bob Marley ringtones on its service this week, while caught in the throes of a licensing dispute between Universal Music Group and the estate of the deceased reggae legend, CNET News.com reported.

Estate of Bob Marley to Sue Universal, Verizon Over Ringtones

New York - The estate of reggae legend Bob Marley intends to sue Universal Music Group and mobile carrier Verizon Wireless, over the distribution of Marley master recording ringtones, Billboard reported.

Hudson Entertainment to Publish Bob Marley Mobile Games

Redwood Shores, Calif. - Japanese video game publisher Hudson Soft's North American unit announced on Thursday that it plans to publish a cell phone game featuring reggae legend Bob Marley in the fall of 2006. "Bob Marley's Burnin'" will feature Marley's music combined with soccer and trivia elements, and will be available for Brew and Java platforms. The title is the first in a trilogy of Bob Marley mobile games to come from Hudson.
