Los Angeles - Classic rock group Boston has hired a new lead singer, who came to their attention via karaoke videos posted on his MySpace profile. Tommy DeCarlo, a 43-year-old father of two residing in Charlotte, N.C., told ABC's "Good Morning America" that his daughter posted videos of him singing karaoke Boston songs on MySpace, which Boston founder Tom Scholz's wife came across as the band was searching for a singer to replace Brad Delp, who committed suicide in March 2007.

Buzz Watch: Boston Ad Pranksters Speak Out... About Hair

Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, representing the New York-based marketing firm Interference gave a press conference today to explain their marketing campaign that shut down a highway and caused the deployment of bomb squads throughout Boston on Wednesday evening (see the DMW story from yesterday here). I guess they were adviced by their lawyer not to talk about the charges they face after the ad campaign went awry. So instead, they talk about hair through the ages (let's hope Fox News don't pull this clip down from YouTube - on Friday it already had over 350,000 views):

D&M's branded products include A/V receivers, amplifiers and CD players; DVD players, DLP projectors and display plasma monitors; and digital media management systems.

ACLU Files to Block RIAA Subpoena for Identity of Boston College Student

Authored by Mark Hefflinger on September 30, 2003 - 9:43am.
Boston -- The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed motions in federal court that aim to counter the recording industry's current subpoena and lawsuit campaign against alleged music file-swappers. On Monday, the ACLU and a Boston law firm asked a federal court to quash a recording industry subpoena filed to obtain the identity of a Boston College student from the school, in connection with alleged copyright infringement. The ACLU said in court papers that the provision of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that allows the streamlined subpoena process currently being used by the RIAA in its anti-piracy legal campaign is "totally lacking in procedural protections," making it "an invitation to mistake and misuse." "We're not saying the recording industry shouldn't go after file sharers, only that they must do so in a way that's fair," said ACLU staff attorney Christopher Hansen.
