Los Angeles - BridgeCo, a developer of entertainment home networking technology that connects consumer electronics to one another and the Internet, has raised $17 million in new private equity and debt financing, PEHub.com reported.

Los Angeles - BridgeCo, a provider of digital home networking technologies, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $23 million in its latest round of venture capital financing. Advent Venture Partners and Wellington Partners co-led the investment round; previous investors Benchmark Capital, Cipio Partners (formerly Infineon Ventures), Earlybird Venture Capital, Fidelity Ventures and Intel Capital also participated. The company also announced that it will launch its new corporate headquarters in the Los Angeles suburb of El Segundo, Calif., with engineering and development efforts to continue from Zurich, Switzerland. BridgeCo develops chips and middleware used to connect digital media players, DVD players, musical instruments and other consumer electronics devices to home stereos, PCs and other devices within the home. The new funds will be used to accelerate market adoption and product development activities.

BridgeCo, Rolf Spuler Develop First "FireWire Guitar"

New York - BridgeCo, a developer of digital entertainment networking technologies, on Friday introduced what it says is the world's first FireWire Guitar, which utilizes the IEEE 1394 interface to directly connect the instrument to a computer for recording, editing and mixing. The technology enables, among other things, each guitar string to be recorded as a separate track. New York-based BridgeCo partnered with Swiss designer Rolf Spuler, who has crafted instruments for Al DiMeola and Bela Fleck, on the design of the FireWire Guitar.

Switzerland's BridgeCo Wins $13.3 Million In Second Round

Zurich -- BridgeCo, a developer of entertainment network adapters (ENAs) based on embedded, secure software, said it has secured $13.3 million in second round funding. Principal investors are Benchmark Capital, Earlybird, Infineon Ventures and Intel Capital. BridgeCo CEO Christof Heidelberger said the funds will be used to aid the continued expansion of the market for ENAs.
