2007 is nearly out, and the Spears family has managed to outdo itself once again. In a year in which Britney seemed to pack more intrigue than Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn, star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, confirmed today that she’s pregnant. Hannah Montana & Britney Spears to Share Thanksgiving?Authored by Scott Goldberg on November 19, 2007 - 1:39am.
Billy Ray Cyrus made his wish to host Britney Spears for Thanksgiving known last week to In Touch magazine, reaching out to the troubled pop star as countless celebrities have done in recent weeks. "We love her. We would love to be there for you and we care about you," Cyrus said. "Miley is a big fan and she wants to reach out, too. We want her to know that's it's never too late to make things right."
Britney Spears’s OK! Magazine Pictures LeakedAuthored by Scott Goldberg on November 10, 2007 - 6:06am.
Back when ignorant folks still believed it possible to contact Britney Spears and have her participate in a photo shoot, OK! Magazine found the task rather difficult. Citing unnamed sources, TMZ reported that Britney’s interview for the shoot was “nothing less than a meltdown,” and apparently she was “completely out of it.” At the time we found both descriptions surprising, whereas now we would be surprised to see her stop at a red light.
The Eagles Outsell Britney Spears for No. 1 SpotAuthored by Scott Goldberg on November 7, 2007 - 11:24am.
Thanks to a rule change by Billboard allowing The Eagles to count sales of its new WalMart-exclusive album Long Road out of Eden, the band’s first studio release in 28 years outsold Britney Spears’s Blackout to earn the No. 1 spot, according to Nielsen SoundScan’s weekly report. Billboard announced yesterday that it would count the sales of albums sold exclusively in single venues like WalMart.
Britney Spears Back at No. 1 with ‘Blackout’Authored by Scott Goldberg on November 6, 2007 - 5:01am.
According to Fox News, Britney Spears’s new album Blackout will finish its first week at No. 1 on the charts. Though citing no exact research, the article estimates that the new album sold between 325,000 and 350,000 units. If the numbers hold when Nielsen SoundScan releases its weekly results tomorrow, it would be a rather unimpressive week of sales for a No. 1 album compared to others this year.
Ryan Seacrest Interviews Britney Spears on KIIS-FMAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 31, 2007 - 6:33am.
On Air with Ryan Seacrest had a guest on its show today sure to make any radio producer start sniffing glue again, Britney Spears. At this point you have to ask yourself if the girl can continue to surprise. Even though the odds of a smooth, clean interview are low, her hitting streak for craziness is reaching Joe DiMaggio levels, so you might have expected this one occasion to go over well. You can listen to the interview here.
Britney Spears’s Mom Lynn to Write BookAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 26, 2007 - 7:16am.
According to Publishers Marketplace, Lynn Spears, mother of 26-year-old Britney and 16-year-old Jamie Lynn, has signed a publishing deal with Thomas Nelson. According to Gawker, “Thomas Nelson is a publisher of Bibles, inspirational (Christian) books, and occasionally books by pontificating celebrities like Bill Cosby, so Lynne Spears is a natural fit for their list.”

Track List and Cover Art Released for Britney Spears’s BlackoutAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 12, 2007 - 6:21am.
What does an album’s cover art and track list tell you about the music? Absolutely nothing. But in the case of Britney Spears and her new album Blackout, both are amusing if only because of the role they play in the larger context of her life. Take the album’s title, for instance. Blackout. A curious and interesting choice. What, exactly, does it mean? The only time we tend to hear the term nowadays is when referencing a state of inebriation in which one remembers not a thing – a blackout. Is that the intention?

Britney Spears New Album "Blackout" Moves Up to October 30Authored by Scott Goldberg on October 10, 2007 - 7:40am.
Citing the amount of “leaked” songs for Britney Spears’ new album titled Blackout (no pun is believed to be intended), her label, Jive Records, has bumped the launch date to October 30th, two weeks ahead of the original November 13th release. Said a label spokesperson, "Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30."

Jewelry Company Sues Chris Crocker for FraudAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 5, 2007 - 2:44pm.
“All you people want is more, more, more, more, more!” said Chris Crocker in what is surely one of the most infamous video rants of the YouTube era (watch again here). Now Britney Spears’ #1 fan is facing the realities of stardom, and it has nothing to do with the deal he signed for his own TV series (read about it). Apparently Crocker had a deal with Onch Movement Jewelry that obligated him to promote its line and, well, all Chris wanted was more, more, more, more, more!
Review: The Britney Spears "Gimme More" Video on iTunesAuthored by Scott Goldberg on October 5, 2007 - 10:23am.
The more I listen to Britney’s Gimme More, the more I like it. She lucked out; the song’s good, catchy, and would be a hit no matter who sang it. You have to hand it to her: She manages to get her hands on more hit-making beats than the average pop princess. And while the video is by no means the flop that her VMA performance was (after all, how bad can a video really be?) it’s certainly uninspiring on many levels:
