Broadcaster.comBuzz Watch: The O.J. Simpsons ControversyAuthored by Jay Baage on May 15, 2007 - 3:03pm.
It is going to be interesting to see how this plays out: The video-sharing site Broadcaster.com has received a request by News Corp. to remove three videos in "The O.J. Simpsons" series that mash up Homer Simpson and O.J. Simpson (one of which is embedded below). Broadcaster.com has so far refused, issuing a statement saying the videos are legal parodies and protected by fair use doctrine. "We respect the rights of content owners," Broadcaster CEO Martin Wade says in a statement. "We are examining all the issues raised by the Fox request. Our goal is to be a respecter of content rights and at the same time find legal ways to bring our community members the content they enjoy."
