Virgin Mobile, Burger King Team on $1 "Ringtone Value Menu"

Los Angeles - Virgin Mobile USA on Wednesday announced a ringtone promotion with fast food chain Burger King and Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG), to create a "Virgin Mobile Ringtone Value Menu" that will offer a selection of ringtones for just $1 each. Artists whose songs are included in the promotion include Flo Rida, Mana, Buckcherry, Estelle and War.

Burger King Taps Mobliss to Develop Mobile Games

Miami - Burger King on Friday announced a deal with Seattle-based mobile content provider Mobliss, which will create a mobile game for the fast food chain. The initial game currently in development will feature players "vying for the role of the King's protégé by facing challenges and progressing in the virtual world of a Burger King-themed city." The games, which will be promoted in restaurants and on packaging, are slated to launch in the spring of 2008.

EMI Taps VerveLife for Burger King DRM-Free Download Giveaway

London - Major record label EMI Music on Tuesday announced that it has partnered with Chicago-based digital music marketing agency VerveLife, on a promotion that will give away EMI artist song downloads free of digital rights management (DRM) to Burger King customers in the U.K. Unique codes included on Burger King products will lead consumers to a microsite where they may browse, sample and download a pre-paid track. "EMI's recent decision to drop DRM has had a hugely positive impact on our potential to collaborate with brands in order to offer consumers downloads that they can play across all digital music players," said Barney Wragg, global head of digital for EMI.

Burger King, Diddy Launch "DiddyTV" Promo Channel on YouTube

Miami - Fast food chain Burger King announced that it has partnered with hip-hop artist Sean "Diddy" Combs on a cross-marketing partnership that includes the launch of a "DiddyTV" channel on the YouTube video-sharing service. The channel will feature tracks and video clips from Diddy's forthcoming album, "Press Play." Under the deal, Combs will appear in a Burger King ad campaign, while the restaurant chain will sponsor a nationwide promotional tour for the album.

AOL, Burger King Offer Free Music Download Promotion

Dulles, Va. -- America Online and fast food chain Burger King announced on Wednesday that they have partnered to offer free digital music downloads to Burger King customers, in a promotion similar to one featuring rival McDonald's and Sony's Connect music service. Through Oct. 3, Burger King customers will receive a unique code redeemable for a free download from AOL Music with every purchase of a Whopper sandwich. AOL Music offers 700,000 tracks through MusicNet, an online music joint venture between AOL and a number of record labels. The McDonald's promotion offered a free download from Connect with every Big Mac Extra Value Meal purchase.
