Blog Network Buzz Media Names Alan Citron President

Los Angeles - Entertainment and pop culture blog network Buzz Media said on Wednesday that it has named Alan Citron as its new president. Citron was the founding general manager at celebrity news site TMZ, and before that was founding president of MusicNet and of Ticketmaster Online. Former Buzz president and company founder Anthony Batt will become chief creative officer. Buzz recently laid off 20% of its workforce, and this week cut the staff at its Idolator music blog to one.

Los Angeles - Entertainment and pop culture blog network Buzz Media laid off virtually all of those involved with its Idolator music blog, leaving founding editor Maura Johnston to operate the site "as a solo project of sorts," according to a post on Idolator.com from Johnston.

Pop Culture Network Buzz Media Teams With OK! Magazine

Los Angeles - Pop culture blog network Buzz Media on Monday announced a partnership with OK! Magazine, whose website will join Buzz's Celebuzz network that includes JustJared, SocialiteLife and What Would Tyler Durden Do. Buzz Media claims an audience of 40 million monthly unique users, while OKmagazine.com counts 21 million monthly page views. Buzz will partner with OK's online ad team on sales representation and operations, while the two companies will work together on marketing.

Entertainment Blog Network Buzz Media Cuts 20% of Staff

Los Angeles - Buzz Media (formerly Buzznet), a network of more than 40 entertainment websites that includes Stereogum, Idolator and Just Jared, has cut over 20% of its staff, and now counts around 75 employees, PaidContent reported.
