Showtime to Offer Tracks Heard on "Californication" on iTunes

New York - CBS-owned cable TV outlet Showtime Networks said this week that it will release a series of song samplers from in its upcoming series "Californication," starring David Duchovny, exclusively on Apple's iTunes Store. The $7.92 "track packs," each of which will feature eight songs, will be released after every four new episodes of the series are aired. The first track pack features songs from artists including the Rolling Stones, Peeping Tom, Paul Oakenfold and My Morning Jacket.

Los Gatos, Calif. - Online DVD rental service Netflix announced on Monday that it has partnered with CBS Corp.'s Showtime Networks, on a marketing promotion that will let Netflix subscribers watch the upcoming series "Californication" three weeks prior to its premiere on Showtime. The first episode of the comedy series, which stars David Duchovny and is set to debut on Showtime on Aug. 13, will be offered both on DVD, and via Netflix's WatchNow video-on-demand service on its website.
