Mobile arm of News Corporation, Jamster, today announced the appointment of Philippa Dworkin as vice president of global communications for Jamster. Dworkin will be responsible for corporate communications and the global press office. She will oversee the strategic positioning of Jamster's corporate and external message, the development of media relations programs and general communications operations worldwide. So this is what Vonage meant when it said a Thursday conference call would reveal how the company planned to work around Verizon’s patents? Still, today’s announcement that CEO Michael Snyder is resigning comes as little surprise. On Monday a judge barred the company from adding new customers, causing the stock to fall 11% to its all-time low of $2.88. This followed a ruling last month by a Virginia jury that ordered Vonage to pay Verizon $58 million, plus royalties on future sales, for violating three of its patents.

Philip Rowley the chairman and CEO of AOL Europe who helped turn around the company's sagging fortunes earlier this decade, has retired, Dulles-based AOL said on Monday. Rowley, who led AOL Europe into profitable territory in 2003, will stay with the company for the next few months to help with the transition. AOL has named a pair of executives to take over his roles. |
