Semantic Search Firm TextDigger Raises $4.3 Million

San Jose, Calif. - TextDigger, a developer of semantic profiling, text mining and search tools, announced on Tuesday that it has closed a $4.3 million round of financing, led by True Ventures.

CBS Interactive Touts Traffic Increases at Websites

San Francisco - CBS Interactive (NYSE: CBS) on Tuesday provided updated traffic data for its stable of websites, touting gains at sites including CBSNews.com, GameSpot and Last.fm. The company said year-over-year traffic at CBSNews.com was up 63%, while traffic at GameSpot was up 21% from a year ago and Last.fm saw a 26% increase in unique users and 21% rise in total minutes spent on the site.

CBS Interactive, Digg Partner for 2008 Election Coverage

New York - CBS Interactive (NYSE: CBS) said on Wednesday that it has partnered with news aggregation site Digg to provide reciprocal links and content during the 2008 election. Digg's election headlines will receive placement on CBSNews.com, while buttons that add a story to Digg's service will be placed alongside CBSNews.com content.

AOL to Phase Out Online HD Video Service Hi-Q

Los Angeles - AOL (NYSE: TW) will discontinue Hi-Q, the high-definition online video streaming service it launched in late 2005, due to low consumer adoption, NewTeeVee.com reports.

CBS Adds Local TV, Radio Stations to CBS Audience Network

Los Angeles - CBS Interactive has secured deals with the 29 TV and 144 radio stations the company owns, as well as many websites of CBS affiliates, to join the CBS Audience Network, the company's Web distribution network that includes AOL, MSN, CNET, Comcast and Joost, Variety reported.

CBS SportsLine.com Rebrands as CBSSports.com

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - CBS SportsLine.com, the online sports service of CBS Interactive, announced on Wednesday a name change to CBSSports.com. "SportsLine is a terrific property with a strong, dedicated fan base," said CBS Interactive COO Steve Snyder. "This change will allow the community to continue to thrive as it always has, but with the added, and more clear connection to the premier sports broadcasting franchise in the industry." The site will continue to host the company's fantasy sports leagues, and will be marked by increased on-site and on-air integration with CBS Sports.
