Founder of CBS Sportline.com Launches New Sports Site

Deerfield Beach, Fla. - Mike Levy, the founder of CBS Sportsline.com, has launched a new online sports site, called OPENSports.com, which will offer breaking sports news, social media tools, user-generated content and multimedia applications.

Deerfield Beach, Fla. - The founder of CBS SportsLine.com on Tuesday announced the beta launch of OPENSports.com, a site that will include breaking sports news, social media tools, user-generated content and multimedia applications. OPENSports is led by Mike Levy, the founder of CBS SportsLine.com and Rob Pythian, founder of Fanball.com. The site launches with content for the 2008 NFL season, but will continue to roll out content and tools for all major sports, including NCAA football, NHL, NBA, NASCAR, PGA Tour, NCAA basketball and Major League Baseball -- and niche sports like MMA and poker.

CBS SportsLine.com Rebrands as CBSSports.com

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - CBS SportsLine.com, the online sports service of CBS Interactive, announced on Wednesday a name change to CBSSports.com. "SportsLine is a terrific property with a strong, dedicated fan base," said CBS Interactive COO Steve Snyder. "This change will allow the community to continue to thrive as it always has, but with the added, and more clear connection to the premier sports broadcasting franchise in the industry." The site will continue to host the company's fantasy sports leagues, and will be marked by increased on-site and on-air integration with CBS Sports.

CBS SportsLine.com Signs TWI to Produce Sports Video Content

New York - CBS SportsLine.com announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with TWI, an independent distributor and producer of televised sporting events, to add exclusive news and features to the CBS online sports site. TWI, which governs the TV rights for Wimbledon, the Olympics, the ATP and WTA, will shoot and edit video on-site, and transmit digital files to SportsLine.com within hours. The first TWI clips to air on SportsLine.com include interviews with team members of the New Orleans Saints on the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

CBS SportsLine.com to Offer StubHub Ticket Marketplace

San Francisco - StubHub, an online secondary marketplace for tickets to various events, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with CBS SportsLine.com to offer its ticket marketplace on the sports portal. San Francisco-based StubHub's partners also include AOL, Knight Ridder and several NFL, NBA and NHL teams.
