Iceland's CCP Games Opens U.S. Office Near Atlanta

Atlanta - Iceland-based game developer and publisher CCP Games said on Wednesday that it has established its North American headquarters near Atlanta in Stone Mountain, Ga. CCP's titles include the massively multiplayer online game "Eve Online," which currently counts more than 190,000 players in over 80 countries -- 40% of whom reside in the U.S.

CCP Games Appoints In-World Economist for "EVE Online" Game

Reykjavik, Iceland - Independent game developer CCP Games announced on Wednesday that it has appointed an in-world economist to cover its massively multiplayer online game, "EVE Online." Dr. Eyjólfur Guðmundsson, of the University of Akureyri, Iceland, will publish quarterly reports on the state of the EVE Online economy as well as ongoing analysis of other economic indicators, such as inflation, economic growth and price trends. The research will both help players make strategic decisions, and aid in future development of the game.

Iceland's CCP Games Licenses "EVE Online" for Play in China

Reykjavik, Iceland - Icelandic game developer CCP Games announced on Monday that it has licensed the rights to Optic Communications to publish its "EVE Online" massively multiplayer online roleplaying game in China. Optic is expected to begin beta testing the game in China in the second quarter, with a fully localized version set to officially launch in the third quarter of 2006.
