Los Angeles - The man accused of leaking songs from the at-the-time unreleased Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" on his blog has pleaded guilty to a federal copyright violation, the Associated Press reported.

Minneapolis - Electronics and media retail chain Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) announced on Monday that it will host exclusive listening parties in the upcoming days before the release of Guns N' Roses 17-years-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" album. The parties kick off today at Best Buy stores in New York, Dallas and Chicago, and will be held in various other locales in advance of the album's debut on Nov. 23. Consumers who pre-order the album on BestBuy.com will receive preferred access and a free t-shirt while supplies last.

Los Angeles - The blogger who admitted to the FBI that he posted unreleased tracks from the upcoming Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" has agreed to plead guilty to one count of federal copyright infringement as part of a deal, Wired.com reported, citing federal prosecutor Craig Missakian.

Plano, Texas - Staying true to its promise from a marketing stunt, soft drink maker Dr. Pepper (NYSE: DPS) said it will offer a free soda coupon to every American when Guns N' Roses releases its 17 years-in-the-making album "Chinese Democracy" on Nov. 23. "We never thought this day would come," said Tony Jacobs, vice president of marketing for Dr Pepper. "But now that it's here all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us." The company said publicly that it would buy everyone in America a Dr. Pepper if the album came out before the end of the year. The coupons will be available for just 24 hours on the 23rd.

Los Angeles - A blogger who posted nine unreleased songs from rock band Guns N' Roses' 14-years-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" album was arrested at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws, the Los Angeles Times reported. Kevin Cogill, a 27-year-old who operates the blog Antiquiet, posted the songs online in June, but removed them shortly thereafter following a reported request from the band.

New York - The first officially released song from Guns 'N Roses fourteen-years-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" album is set to debut in September, as a track within "Rock Band 2," the sequel to Viacom-owned (NYSE: VIA) MTV Games popular music game, The New York Times reported on Monday, citing anonymous sources. Such a deal underlines the influence that the new crop of music games can have on an artist's sales. A release date for the album -- some of whose tracks were recently leaked by a blogger -- has not yet been announced, but if the "Rock Band" deal pans out, it could signal that the full album will finally be released in the fall.

San Francisco - The FBI this week visited the operator of a blog that leaked pre-release tracks from the long-awaited Guns 'N Roses album "Chinese Democracy" -- a crime that under a 2005 law can carry a ten-year prison term, Rolling Stone and Wired.com reported. "Skwerl," the operator of the blog Antiquiet, posted the tracks for streaming on his blog but quickly removed them after being contacted by representatives for the band.
