The official music video for "Pork and Beans" from the band Weezer was released today (embedded above). It features some of the most talked-about YouTube celebrities singing along with the lyrics. It is a good song, a cool video as well as smart viral marketing. Check it out.

Until another internet video site challenges YouTube’s throne, the Google-owned network continues to be a barometer for all things viral on the web. Today Reuters points out that Barely Political’s “Obama Girl” and Chris Crocker’s tearful tirade against Britney Spears haters are the Most Popular YouTube clips of 2007.

Chris Crocker finds himself the defendant in a $1 million Lawsuit

“All you people want is more, more, more, more, more!” said Chris Crocker in what is surely one of the most infamous video rants of the YouTube era (watch again here). Now Britney Spears’ #1 fan is facing the realities of stardom, and it has nothing to do with the deal he signed for his own TV series (read about it). Apparently Crocker had a deal with Onch Movement Jewelry that obligated him to promote its line and, well, all Chris wanted was more, more, more, more, more!

Followig a YouTube hit, Chris Crocker, Britney Spears Super Fan, is getting his own show

Chris Crocker went nuts on YouTube following the Britney Spears debacle at the Video Music Awards, and 8 million people watched (you can see the clip here). Now reality television producer 44 Blue Productions has contracted with Crocker on a development deal, only the latest example of the power of YouTube to create instant celebrity. The show will be a docusoap in the vein of MTV’s The Hills and Laguna Beach, and will follow the 19-year-old Crocker's life in Tennesse, where he lives with his grandparents.
