IAC to Launch Online Ad Network for Various Web Properties

New York - InterActiveCorp. (IAC) (NASD: IACI) has announced plans to launch an online advertising network that will cover all of its 26 various brands and Web properties, including Evite, Citysearch and Match.com.

New York - IAC (NASD: IACI) , the media conglomerate run by Barry Diller that owns Ticketmaster, Citysearch, Ask.com and many other properties, announced on Monday a plan to split IAC into five publicly-traded companies. "We've been a complex enterprise almost from the very beginning 12 years ago, with hundreds of transactions over those years. And while we've created a lot of value, I've always believed our complexity and many mouthfuls of sentences to explain who we are and what our strategy is have hampered clarity and understanding with all our constituencies, particularly investors," said IAC chairman and CEO Barry Diller.

Ticketmaster Buys Majority Stake in Online Fan Club Echomusic

West Hollywood, Calif. - IAC/InterActive Corp.'s Ticketmaster announced on Monday that it will acquire a majority stake in Nashville-based Echomusic, an online fan club and brand management company whose 300 clients include Kelly Clarkson and Rascal Flatts.

Citysearch Acquires Local Search, Reviews Provider Insider Pages

West Hollywood, Calif. - Local city guide Citysearch, a unit of InterActiveCorp (IAC), announced that it will acquire Insider Pages, a provider of local search and user-generated reviews of local businesses in 30 U.S. markets.

Mdog.com Launches Mobile Versions of eBay, Craigslist, Wikipedia

Chicago - Mdog.com on Tuesday launched mobile editions of popular websites including eBay, Craigslist, Wikipedia, Citysearch and MySpace. The free Mdog.com portal is compatible will all carrier services on any Web-enabled mobile device. The new mobile sites will allow users to securely view post bids on eBay, and view online classifieds from Craigslist, among other features. Chicago-based Mdog.com also soon plans to launch its Bingo mobile search engine.

Citysearch to Power Local Content for InterActiveCorp's AskCity

West Hollywood, Calif. - InterActiveCorp's Citysearch online city guide service announced on Friday that it will serve as the core local content provider for Ask.com's new local search service, AskCity. Citysearch includes editorial and user reviews on over 12 million local businesses nationwide. Ask.com is also a unit of InterActiveCorp.

IAC Dances Fine Line Between AskCity and CitySearch

IAC’s Ask.com rolled out AskCity this week in a bid to use IAC’s content to differentiate itself from Google, Yahoo, MSN and AOL. The site, which succeeds AskLocal, proves to be an excellent local research tool and effectively integrates listings, reviews and other content from IAC sites such as CitySearch and evite, as well as non-IAC sites (It is a little weird, however, that AskCity is not the URL, but rather a sub-site within Ask).
