San Antonio - Clear Channel Radio (NYSE: CCU) on Tuesday announced the launch of erockster, a site that offers a collection of on-air, online and on-demand music content, along with community features. The site, produced by Eric Szmanda -- the actor who plays Greg Sanders on "CSI" -- launched last weekend with a stream of songs from artists that have played the Coachella music festival in California. As of May 2, erockster's content will also begin streaming from Los Angeles (KYSR-FM), Washington D.C. (WWDC-FM) and Philadelphia (WRFF-FM), and a two-hour syndicated show will also be offered on FM stations. New York - Mobile entertainment content distributor Thumbplay announced on Monday that it will create customized mobile content stores for the websites of more than 650 local Clear Channel Radio (NYSE: CCU) stations. New York-based Thumbplay has already created mobile sites for more than 100 radio stations, which allow listeners to purchase ringtones based on songs they hear on-air. Chicago - Clear Channel Radio said on Thursday that it has teamed with cable TV provider Comcast and Music Choice to launch a music video countdown show hosted by local Chicago radio personalities. San Diego - WebSideStory, a provider of digital marketing and customer analysis applications, announced on Monday that Clear Channel Radio, the nation's largest radio station owner, has deployed its Web analytics system across 1,200 radio station websites. San Diego-based WebSideStory's technology will measure and analyze visitor activity on the websites, tracking the popularity of audio and video content including on-demand music videos, station simulcasts, podcasts and live in-studio performances.

New York -- Clear Channel Radio, the nation's largest radio station owner, announced on Tuesday that its Online Music & Radio unit has launched new on-demand programming on its radio station websites that will showcase new and developing artists. The sites, which will be promoted on-air, will feature 16 new artists each quarter, offering five streaming songs and an artist-produced video segment, in addition to a link to each artist's website. In addition, the company partnered with independent artist community GarageBand.com, which will be able to feature 50 of its artists on Clear Channel radio station sites. Clear Channel said that labels participating in the new artist promotions include Atlantic, Capitol, Columbia, Def Jam, Lava, Manhattan, RMG, Rounder, Sony/BMG, Virgin, Warner Bros. and Wind-Up. Initial artists to be promoted through the initiative include Antigone Rising, James Blunt, the Shout Out Louds and the Veronicas.
