Hulu Adds Viacom's "The Daily Show," "Colbert Report"

Los Angeles - With a $1 billion copyright lawsuit against YouTube (NASD: GOOG) still pending, Viacom (NYSE: VIA) has struck a deal to offer two of its Comedy Central network's most popular programs for free streaming on Hulu, the advertising-supported video service joint venture between News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) and NBC Universal (NYSE: GE).

Craig Newmark, the founder of Craigslist, was interviewed on last night’s episode of The Colbert Report. Newmark was also liveblogging his appearance over on here, here and here, as the blog Laughing Squid pointed out. Stephen Colbert thanked him for killing the American Newspaper and made Newmark answer the question: "Why haven't you sold out for a billion dollars yet?"

Comedy Central's "Daily Show," "Colbert Report" Added to iTunes

New York - MTV Networks' Comedy Central announced on Wednesday that it will make full-episode downloads of its "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" programs available the day after they are broadcast on Apple's iTunes Store for $1.99. The network will also offer a "Multi-Pass," consisting of a month's worth of 16 new episodes, for $9.99. Comedy Central also offers its "South Park," "Drawn Together" and "Comedy Central Stand-Up" programs on iTunes.
