Los Angeles - College Tonight, a social network for college students that promotes real-world interactions, announced on Thursday that it will acquire Gridiron Bash, a New York-based producer of events pairing college football games and top musical talent.

Los Angeles - College Tonight, an online social network that promotes off-line social interactivity among college students, said on Thursday that it has signed Lauren Conrad, of MTV reality series "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills," as its national spokesperson. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. "Lauren has one of the most mature brands in young Hollywood and is a positive role model for young adults," said College Tonight CEO Zachary R. Suchin. "Her affinity for fashion and everything socially fresh is fluidly synergistic with College Tonight's efforts."

Atlanta - College Tonight, an online social network and marketing platform, announced on Thursday that it has completed its merger with Simex Technologies (NASD: SMXT), and as part of the transaction, raised $1.6 million in equity capital through private placements.

At the Digital Music Forum West in October, Eric Garland, CEO of BigChampagne, predicted that social networking and peer-to-peer sites will evolve into smaller communities where users will find more people with similar tastes. “The people you are interacting with will become more and more like you,” Garland said. “It will be smaller groups, and larger phenomena.” Enter Zachary Suchin, the 22-year-old President and CEO of the social networking site College Tonight, who believes MySpace and Facebook have seen their best days pass.
