Sony to Preview 10 Minutes of "Walk Hard" Film on Fox Sites

Culver City, Calif. - Sony's (NYSE: SNE) Columbia Pictures said on Friday that it will offer a sneak peak at the first 10 minutes of producer Judd Apatow's upcoming film "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" on three of News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) unit Fox Interactive Media's sites this weekend, including MySpace, IGN.com and RottenTomatoes.com. The preview will also be available on the movie's own dedicated site. The film, which stars John C. Reilly, is set for theatrical release on Dec. 21.

Sony in Talks for Movie Rights to Konami's "Metal Gear Solid" Game

Los Angeles - Sony's Columbia Pictures is in talks to acquire the motion picture rights to Japanese developer Konami's "Metal Gear Solid" video game, which to date has generated more than $1 billion and 20 million unit sales, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Interactive TV Firm YooMedia to Acquire Columbia Pictures' GoPlay TV

London -- YooMedia, a developer of interactive TV and wireless applications, said on Friday that it will acquire GoPlay TV, an interactive games channel, from Columbia Pictures for $11.2 million. GoPlay owns and operates an interactive games channel available on the first page of the interactive main menu on Sky Digital. The deal establishes U.K.-based YooMedia as a leading interactive content provider across all digital TV platforms in the U.K., including games, chat, dating and gaming.
