NBC Universal Names George Kliavkoff First Chief Digital Officer

New York - NBC Universal announced on Tuesday that it has named George Kliavkoff as its first chief digital officer. Previously, Kliavkoff was an executive vice president at Major League Baseball Advanced Media. Kliavkoff will oversee the online and wireless efforts at NBC, which plans to make new media a part of all of its shows.

Major League Baseball to Power, Link to Music Entertainment Site

Burbank, Calif. - CenterStaging, a digital entertainment publisher, announced on Monday that it has partnered with Major League Baseball Advanced Media to launch Rehearsals.com, a site that will showcase musical artists as they prepare for concert tours, TV appearances and recording sessions. MLB.com built and will power the site, in addition to linking to and marketing Rehearsals.com to its baseball fan visitors. In addition to exclusive footage from artists including The New Cars, Earth, Wind & Fire, Panic Channel, the Pussycat Dolls and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Rehearsals.com will offer music news and weekly profiles with musicians in an original series called "Lessons from the Legends."
