Wolfgang's Vault Offering Free Streams of Vintage Bill Graham Concerts

Nashville - A 75-song playlist of live performances, recorded at San Francisco's Fillmore and other venues by the late promoter Bill Graham, has been made available for free streaming online, Billboard reported on Monday. The 128kbps vintage recordings, from artists including Bob Dylan, Santana and Jefferson Airplane, are available from Wolfgang's Vault, a site set up by entrepreneur Bill Sagan -- who purchased a treasure trove of nearly 8,000 audio and video recordings for $5 million following Graham's death in 1991. Sagan is also looking to release CDs and DVDs of Bill Graham Presents concerts by the end of the year.

Cingular Launches "Cingular Sounds Live" Concert Series

Los Angeles - Wireless network operator Cingular on Friday announced the launch of Cingular Sounds Live, a concert series staged to generate exclusive audio and video content for its subscribers. The first concert, featuring reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee and the Pussycat Dolls, is being held today in Los Angeles. Verizon Wireless Sponsors Fugees Reunion Concert

Bedminster, N.J. - Verizon Wireless said on Monday that it will sponsor a reunion performance of hip-hop group the Fugees, highlights of which it will distribute to subscribers of its V CAST mobile multimedia service after the concert. The company will also sell recordings from the open-air concert at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles in coming weeks to customers with V CAST Music-enabled phones.

Live Nation, Nokia Partner on U.K. Mobile Concert Ticket Service

London - Live Nation, a global concert promoter and owner of 150 venues, announced on Monday that it has partnered with Nokia to launch TicketRush.co.uk, an online store that will promote and sell tickets to concerts, events and festivals. The service promises to offer early access to tickets to some events, as well as the ability to purchase last minute tickets to sold out shows. The company said it will add the ability for users to purchase tickets directly from cell phones over the next few months.

Napster to Sell Concert Downloads from Clear Channel's Instant Live

Los Angeles - Napster announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with concert promoter Clear Channel Entertainment, to sell song downloads of live concert performances recorded by Clear Channel's Instant Live unit. Instant Live records live performances on-site and distributes live CD recordings to concertgoers at the venue following the show. Instant Live recordings available now from Napster include performances from The Allman Brothers Band, Bauhaus and The Black Crowes.

Yahoo, Pepsi Team to Offer Music Concert Webcasts

Santa Monica, Calif. -- Yahoo announced on Thursday that it has partnered with Pepsi to give a new online home to "Pepsi Smash," a live concert series that originally aired on TV. "Smash on Yahoo Music" will feature on-demand video of live performances, in addition to lifestyle segments, interviews and other footage from artists including Coldplay, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Billy Corgan and Mark Hoppus. The site will also offer features on cover song performances, electronic music DJs, emerging hip-hop, music news and promotional contests.

Immediatek Acquires Instant Concert CD Distributor DiscLive

Richardson, Texas -- Immediatek, a developer of secure CD-burning technology, announced that it has acquired New York-based DiscLive, creator of a service that records live music concerts and then sells CDs of the performances directly following the show. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Texas-based Immediatek said it will offer DiscLive artists the ability to release copy-controlled CDs and consumers the ability to have CDs ordered through DiscLive's website downloaded immediately through its NetBurn technology. The companies expect DiscLive's summer concert operations -- which include releases of shows from the Pixies reunion tour -- to generate $500,000 in revenues. Other artists using the service include Billy Idol and Antibalas.
