Authored by Jay Baage on January 3, 2008 - 7:00am.

You got to give it to David Letterman and the writers for this one - last night when CBS' (NYSE: CBS) "Late Night with David Letterman" returned on the air for the first time after being shut down by the WGA strike, Letterman had striking writers write their top ten demands for his popular "Top Ten" list. By the way, David Letterman'scored a 4.3 rating and 10 share for "Late Show" on Wednesday, which translates to 39 percent better than his pre-strike average. It is also worth noting that while the writers for Jay Leno's "Tonight" show on NBC (NYSE: GE) are still on strike, Letterman's production company (Worldwide Pants) struck a deal last week to bring his writers back to work. Here is the top ten list from last night:

Buzz Watch: Bo Burnham is a Diamond in the Rough

Authored by Jay Baage on September 11, 2007 - 6:12am.
The talented 17-year-old Bo Burnham from Massachusetts deserves a break. His funny homemade videos are getting hundreds of thousands of hits on Break, Youtube, MySpace and others. Either you find him hilarious or just offensive and annoying, but it's impossible to ignore him. In a new media world where you have to prove yourself on the Internet, Bo Burnham has the goods. He has developed a cult-like following online, but so far he has not been discovered by big media (tip to daring bookers at Late Night with David Letterman or Conan O’Brian etc.)

On YouTube, DutchWest Plays Differently than the Other Kids

DutchWest
Your friends and family are YouTube’s best filters.  The reason?  The majority of the clips you find browsing are terrible.  Most likely, unless you’re intentionally subjecting your friends to garbage, you’re not going to send them bad material.  What you send, naturally, is a mark of your identity.  Send something dumb and you think it’s funny?  Hope you have dumb friends.  A buddy recently sent me a clip too stupid to waste time describing with the subject line, “This is funny…I swear!”  Well, it wasn’t funny at all.  It was horrendous.  When I realized he was serious it made me consider whether or not we were really friends.  How could our senses of humor be so different?  I thought I knew him better than that!

Michael Buckley's irreverent take on David Beckham's coming to America:

What the Buck?! Why isn’t this Guy Signed?

Authored by robert on December 26, 2006 - 10:56am.
While searching for video of Jennifer Hudson on YouTube recently, my wife came across a refreshingly unique take on the new movie Dreamgirls, in which Hudson, a former American Idol contestant, outshines her most established co-stars – in particular Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx – in her underdog role as Effie White. The reviewer, AKA Buck the Hustler, aptly conveys his fun and over-the-top style with the clip’s title: Beyonce Threatens to KILL Jennifer Hudson if she WINS OSCAR!
