National Geographic Ventures (NGV) President and CEO Tim Kelly announced today that William S. Weil has been named Chief Operating Officer of National Geographic Entertainment Group, which includes National Geographic's feature film, kids' entertainment and giant screen film business units. Weil joined National Geographic in 2002 and was most recently executive vice president of Strategy, Marketing and Entertainment Group. Prior to joining National Geographic, Weil was Senior Vice President of AG Interactive, and Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Nickelodeon Networks.

C-SPAN, Congressional Quarterly to Archive Debates, Campaign Ads Online

Washington - C-SPAN, the non-profit political network funded by the cable TV industry, announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with Congressional Quarterly to launch CampaignNetwork.org, a website that will feature a video archive of debate and event coverage from the most competitive congressional and gubernatorial races of this year's mid-term elections. In addition to debates, that site will also archive campaign TV ads, and feature in-depth, nonpartisan political analysis from reporters at CQPolitics.com.

Congressional Quarterly Acquires Political Money Line

Washington - Congressional Quarterly, the Washington-based provider of news and analysis on politics and public policy issues, said on Tuesday that it has acquired Political Money Line, an independent source of Web-based campaign finance information, for an undisclosed sum.
