Edmonton, Alberta - Canadian broadcaster Allarco Entertainment announced this week that the Canadian government has accepted its proposal to create a multi-channel high-definition pay-TV service, which it plans to launch in early 2007. "Since we made the proposal to the CRTC we have been putting plans into place that will enable us to begin discussions with cable and satellite distributors immediately," said Allard chairman and CEO Charles Allard. The company said it committed to reinvesting 100% of its profits -- and 32% of annual revenues -- in Canadian programming, and will spend $1 million annually marketing these programs. It will also offer a dedicated HD Canada channel on the service that will promote and air Canadian content.
