London - Mobile Streams, a developer of mobile content delivery technology and publisher of mobile entertainment, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Hannover, Germany-based wireless entertainment firm Cyoshi Mobile for $3.7 million. Cyoshi has distributed mobile TV short-form animation such as "Happy Tree Friends" and "Suicidal Squirrels," as well as mobile Bible passages, in Europe through Vodafone, T-Mobile and Hutchison 3G. London-based Mobile Streams distributes ringtones, graphics, video clips and other content using its own Vuesia platform, which will now also be utilized by Cyoshi. "This complementary acquisition accelerates our strategy in several important ways -- it extends our operator distribution footprint from the U.K. across both continental and Eastern Europe while also accelerating our content strategy by adding compelling licensed content," said Mobile Streams CEO Simon Buckingham.
