Los Angeles - Cyworld, a
Korea-based online social network owned by SK Telecom, has decided to shutter
its U.S.
service three years after launch, having failed to attract a large audience.
Los Angeles - South Korea implemented
a tough new "three-strikes" copyright law this week, which will
empower authorities to sever the Internet connections of repeat copyright infringers
for six months, TorrentFreak reports.
San Francisco - Cyworld, a Korean social networking site launched in 1999 by SK Telecom, announced on Wednesday its official launch in the U.S. The company said 92% of Koreans aged 24-29 are Cyworld members, while its Chinese site has signed up 1.8 million members in six months.
