San Francisco - Experience Project (EP), the developer of a social website that lets users anonymously share the stories of their life experiences, said on Tuesday that it has raised $3 million in its first round of funding, led by the D.E. Shaw Group.

San Mateo, Calif. - Veodia, a provider of high-quality streaming video delivery services for businesses, announced on Monday that it has raised $8.3 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from Clearstone Venture Partners, the D.E. Shaw Group, and a group of angel investors led by Steven Berger.

Parallel Virtual World Developer Rocketon Lands $5 Million

San Francisco - Rocketon, the developer of a "parallel virtual world that spans the Web," announced on Tuesday that it has raised a $5 million second round of financing from the D.E. Shaw Group's venture capital unit.

Encino, Calif. - Emotive Communications, the developer of "push-ringer" ringtone technology that allows a caller to determine the ringtone heard by the person they are calling, has raised $7.7 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by D.E. Shaw Group.

Theater, Mall-based Digital Ad Network Reactrix Raises $45 Million

Redwood City, Calif. - Reactrix Systems, a provider of interactive media services to malls and theaters, said on Thursday that it has raised $45 million in its fourth round of funding. The round, the largest in the company's history, was co-led by new investors D. E. Shaw group and Menlo Ventures, and included participation from previous investors Mobius Venture Capital, Thomas Weisel Venture Partners and Worldview Technology Partners.
