Calif. - Visceral Games, a video
game development studio owned by Electronic Arts (NASD: ERTS), said on Friday that it
has signed Academy Award-nominated writer Will Rokos to pen the story line for
its upcoming "Dante's Inferno" game. Rokos is best known for his Best Original Screenplay
nomination for "Monster's Ball" in 2001. The game will be released in
North America on Feb. 9.

So far, movies based on video games has not been a successful genre. Today, EA and Starz Media’s Film Roman announced the production of a feature-length animated movie based on epic poem Dante’s Inferno – one that will expand on the story told in the game of the same name being released by EA in 2010.
