PodShow, Limelight Networks Partner on Podcast Delivery Network

San Francisco - PodShow, a provider of podcast creation and distribution software, said on Tuesday that it has partnered with content delivery network provider Limelight Networks to launch PodShowPDN, an accelerated delivery network for podcasts. The companies said PodShowPDN can be used to manage, deliver and track tens of thousands of shows, millions of episodes and hundreds of millions of downloads.

Mobile Content Delivery Firm Digital Orchid Raises $6 Million

San Diego - Digital Orchid, a developer of wireless content delivery technology, announced on Friday that it has raised $6 million in its second round of venture capital financing. Shepherd Ventures led the investment round; NeoCarta Ventures also participated. San Diego-based Digital Orchid's technology automates the building and distribution of wireless content on mobile phones, and has been used by customers including NASCAR, MLB, ESPN, NHL and other sports entertainment brands. The company said the funds will be used to accelerate global growth.

Mobile Content Delivery Firm NeoMedia Buys Mobot for $10 Million

Fort Myers, Fla. - NeoMedia Technologies, a developer of wireless Internet content delivery technology, has agreed to pay $10 million in cash to acquire Mobot, a Massachusetts-based developer of mobile visual recognition technology. Launched in 2004, Mobot offers technology that allows companies to advertise to users of mobile phones equipped with cameras. The company will continue to be headquartered in the Boston area, and its founder Russell Gocht will remain CEO, reporting to Martin Copus, NeoMedia's COO.
