Secure Digital Music Distributor Musicrypt Raises $10 Million

Toronto, Canada - Musicrypt, a provider of secure distribution of singles from record labels to radio stations and others, announced on Thursday that it has secured $10 million in new financing, through a private placement of its shares.

Orlando, Fla. - Promo Only, a provider of subscription-based music and music video services for the record industry and businesses, announced on Thursday that it has ended its partnership with Destiny Media Technologies, with whom it was offering a service that securely distributes digital singles from labels to radio stations.

Vancouver - Destiny Media Technologies said on Thursday that it has added an Artist Liner Service to Promo Only MPE, its secure music distribution service for record labels and radio stations.

Destiny Media Launches Commercial Digital Music Service in Canada

Vancouver, Canada - Destiny Media Technologies on Thursday launched Canada's first online commercial music service, the Promo Only Digital Download Service (PODDS), which will deliver tracks to radio disc jockeys and other commercial establishments. The service is the first to be approved by the Canadian Audio-Video Licensing Agency, which represents Universal, Warner Music and EMI in Canada. Aside from PODDS, it is not legal for DJs to rip CDs to a computer or use consumer download services to source music for public performance. In addition to new singles, PODDS will offer rare remixes, extended mixes and other content from major and indie labels.

Musicrypt Raises $1.5 Million; Patent Dispute With Rival Escalates
