Online Art Community deviantART Hits 50 Million Submissions

Los Angeles - deviantART, an eight-year-old online art community with over 7 million registered users, has announced that it recently received its 50 millionth artist-generated submission. The site received more than 23 million unique visitors in January, averages over 70,000 art submissions daily, and attracts more than 1.5 billion page views a month. Los Angeles-based deviantART features more than 1,600 categories of user-submitted artwork, ranging from photography, to artisan crafts and manga/anime, and offers a merchandising interface where artists can sell reprints of their works on canvas, posters, calendars and other media.

Hollywood, Calif. - Online art and photo-sharing community deviantART has raised $3.5 million in its first round of financing, PEHub.com reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Millennials Conference: What are 18-24 Year Olds Doing Online?

Yesterday I spoke at the the Millennials Conference in Los Angeles. I talked about some websites that have a high concentration of users in the 18-24 age group, and are enabling users to share content beyond the usual activities on social networking sites. 18-24 year-olds make up 19% of the adult online population, and based upon their website preferences, are much more interested in creating and sharing content than the average online user.
