Moxi Set-top Maker Digeo Acquired by Arris for $20 Million

Suwanee, Ga. - Digeo, the developer of a digital video recorder set-top box and associated service, has been acquired by ARRIS Group for about $20 million.

DVR Maker Digeo Cuts Half of Staff; CEO Fidler Steps Down

Kirkland, Wash. - Digeo, a maker of digital video recorder devices and services under the Moxi brand name, announced on Tuesday that it will lay off nearly half of its staff, or 80 employees, and cancelled plans to release two new product lines. Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo, which is majority-owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, also announced that CEO Mike Fidler has stepped down, and been replaced by president and COO Greg Gudorf.

Digeo Debuts PC Software Version of Personal Media Recorder

Kirkland, Wash. - Digeo, makers of the Moxi digital media recorder set-top box device, announced on Thursday the beta release of a PC application that lets PC users with a TV tuner card and Windows XP to watch, record and play TV content from their PC. Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo said its Moxi set-tops have been deployed in more than 400,000 homes by eight U.S. cable operators.

Digeo Awarded 3 U.S. Patents for Moxi DVR Interface

Kirkland, Wash. - Digeo, a developer of a set-top box and software that combine digital video recording with media center capabilities, announced on Thursday that it has been awarded three new U.S. patents for its Moxi DVR user interface. Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo's Emmy Award-winning interface is currently deployed on nearly 400,000 set-tops through eight cable TV providers nationwide.

Digeo Provides Moxi Media Center Set-tops to Regional Cable Firms

Kirkland, Wash. - Digeo, the developer of the Moxi Media Center video-on-demand set-top box and service, announced on Monday that regional cable TV operators Service Electric Cablevision and Eagle Communications have begun deploying its service with their subscribers. Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo said the Moxi Media Center has now been deployed in some 225,000 North American homes.

Digeo Deploys 100K Moxi Media Centers With Charter Subscribers

Kirkland, Wash. - Digeo, a maker of networked digital video recorders, announced that its Moxi Media Center devices have now been deployed to more than 100,000 Charter digital cable subscribers. Kirkland, Wash.-based Digeo's Moxi set-top is now available to 85% of Charter's 2.7 million digital cable TV subscribers.
