Home Networking Firm Mediabolic Acquires Streaming Developer Digital 5

San Mateo, Calif. - Mediabolic, a developer of entertainment networking software, announced that it has acquired the assets of Digital 5, a New Jersey-based developer of multimedia streaming software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. San Mateo, Calif.-based Mediabolic offers a standards-based media player and media server software that let PC's and other home entertainment devices connect via a network and share music, photos, video and other media content. "This acquisition demonstrates our ongoing commitment to expanding our offering of multimedia technologies to next-generation connected entertainment devices," said Mediabolic president and CEO Daniel Putterman.
