Digital Music Group Sets Shareholder Vote on Orchard Merger

Sacramento, Calif. - Digital Music Group, Inc. (DMGI), an owner and digital distributor of independent music, TV and video catalogs, said on Thursday that it has scheduled a special stockholder meeting to vote on its proposed merger with fellow digital distributor The Orchard.

New York - The Orchard, a digital distributor and marketer of independent music, announced on Wednesday that it has agreed to a reverse merger agreement with fellow digital music and video distributor Digital Music Group, Inc.

DMGI to Distribute Music, Video from Todd Rundgren, Other Artists

Sacramento, Calif. - Digital Music Group, Inc. (DMGI), a digital distributor of independent music and video, said on Thursday that it has acquired the rights to distribute music and video content from artists including Todd Rundgren, The Alarm, Dwight Twilley, Richard Clayderman, and Wayne Newton. In all, the acquisitions add another 3,000 tracks to DMGI's library.

Digital Music Group to Distribute Shout Factory Label Catalogs

Sacramento, Calif. - Digital Music Group, a distributor of digital music and video recordings, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a long-term digital distribution agreement for two music catalogs owned by Shout Factory that will add 10,000 new tracks to its offering. The deal includes the catalogs of Biograph Records, which includes early jazz, ragtime and blues recordings, and Black Top Records, a label that released blues records in the late 1980s and 1990s. Last month, Sacramento, Calif.-based Digital Music Group acquired rival digital music distributor Digital Rights Agency for about $4.9 million.

Sacramento, Calif. - Digital Music Group, a digital distributor of back catalog and independent label recordings, announced on Tuesday that it has signed a long-term agreement with Pipeline Music. Under the deal, Digital Music Group will distribute the label's catalog of over 2,000 classical music recordings from Russian and other Soviet-bloc performers.
