Fox's IGN Launches Movie, TV Downloads on Direct2Drive Store

Los Angeles - Fox Interactive Media's IGN video game site announced on Wednesday that it has added movies, TV shows and anime to its Direct2Drive digital download store.

The store announced multi-year agreements with 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Starz Media and Central Park Media, which will bring movies like "X-Men: The Last Stand," "Saw 2" and "Ghost in the Shell" to Direct2Drive.

Bellevue, Wash. - ArenaNet, developer of the "Guild Wars" online game franchise, and Korean video game publisher NCsoft announced on Thursday that they will hold the Guild Wars Factions World Championship video game tournament in August, during the GC Game Convention in Leipzig, Germany. The companies will fly the game's top five guilds from around the world to Leipzig to compete for $100,000 in cash and prizes.

Brisbane, Calif. - News Corporation's IGN Entertainment, a provider of information and services for the video game market, said on Wednesday that it has partnered with game developer Fireflow Games to provide digital distribution of the company's "Sudden Strike" PC game. The title will be delivered through IGN's Direct2Drive digital distribution unit.

Brisbane, Calif. - Direct2Drive, a unit of News Corporation's IGN video game portal, announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with video game publisher 2K Games, to offer digital distribution for the company's PC games. Direct2Drive will offer direct downloads of games including "Sid Meier's Civilization IV," "Serious Sam 2" and "Sid Meier's Pirates." The company also provides digital game distribution for Activision, Atari, Electronic Arts, Sony and Vivendi Universal Games.

Brisbane, Calif. - Korean online game developer NCsoft said on Thursday that it will put two of its titles up for sale and digital download from Direct2Drive, a digital retailer operated by News Corp.'s IGN Entertainment. Direct2Drive will now sell NCsoft's "City of Heroes" and "Lineage" massively multiplayer online titles.
