New York - The Orchard has completed its merger with Digital Music Group, Inc. (NASD: DMGI), a fellow provider of digital distribution services for music and video. Under terms of the all-stock transaction, shareholders of The Orchard will own about 60% of the combined company, which will be based out of New York, and continue to be led by Orchard president and CEO Greg Scholl. Santa Monica, Calif. - Movielink, a studio-backed movie download service, announced on Wednesday that it has added live music concerts to its offering, through deals signed with CenterStaging Musical Productions, Digital Music Group (DMGI) and Egami Media. CenterStaging's Rehearsals.com will provide footage of recording sessions and interviews with artists including Chris Isaak and Fenix TX, while Egami will offer shows from Johnny Cash and Kiss, and DMGI will add its "Masters of Rock" series, featuring artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
