Atari Completes Restructuring; Settles With FUNimation

New York - Struggling video game publisher Atari (NASD: ATAR) announced on Tuesday that it has completed some of its restructuring plans, altering its relationship with parent company Infogrames, and secured $4 million in new borrowing capacity to meet its holiday season financing needs. The company also announced that it has settled its dispute with FUNimation, holder of the "Dragon Ball Z" license, and will pay the company a total of $3.5 million while retaining the game rights through 2010.

New York - Atari announced on Thursday that it has shipped its "Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2" title for the Nintendo DS to retailers. Atari said its video games based on the Japanese anime import have sold more than 8 million units since May 2002.

French Game Developer Infogrames' Revenue Up On "Dragon Ball Z" Sales

Paris -- French video games company Infogrames Entertainment said on Friday that strong sales of its "Dragon Ball Z" title, based on the popular animated children's TV series, helped push its revenue 22 percent higher to 513.5 million euro ($555.3 million) in the first half of its fiscal year. Sales of the game have exceeded 2.7 million copies since its launch.
