Santa Monica, Calif. - Video game publisher Activision announced on Wednesday that it has been awarded a license from MGM and EON Productions to develop and publish video games based on the James Bond film franchise through the year 2014. The license was previously held by rival Electronic Arts, which has generated sales of 30 million units of its James Bond 007 titles. "Activision's proven expertise in developing cutting edge games, their core competency in managing large movie franchises combined with the global appeal of the James Bond property, will create a new benchmark for the next-generation gaming experience," said MGM executive vice president Travis Rutherford.
