Local Event Listings Firm Eventful Gets $10M; Ticketmaster Deal

San Diego - Eventful, an online local event listings service, announced on Wednesday that it has secured a $10 million third round of financing, led by Telefonica with participation from previous investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Bay Partners.

MySpace Supports OpenID, Data Availability for Flixter, Eventful

Los Angeles - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace on Tuesday announced its support for OpenID, an initiative that lets users of supported websites login to all of them using a single username and password. In addition, the company announced two new implementations of its Data Availability initiative, designed to allow MySpace users to automatically port content and data from their profiles to other social media sites. MySpace users will now be able to share profile content with their accounts on movie reviews community Flixter and local event listings service Eventful.

Eventful to Provide Event Listings for L.A. Times' The Guide

San Diego - Eventful, a site that aggregates local event listings, said on Wednesday that it will provide a selection of regional events to The Guide, a new resource on live music, book signings, art galleries, restaurants and other activities offered by the Los Angeles Times. San Diego-based Eventful said The Times is among 1,200 companies using its API to create targeted event listing calendars.

Global Event Information Provider Eventful Raises $7.5 Million

San Diego - Eventful, a global events information website, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $7.5 in its second round of venture capital financing, led by Bay Partners. Previous investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Omidyar Network and Esther Dyson also participated in the round. Founded in 2004, Eventful.com allows users to discover events in their area, promote events of all types and create online communities focused on specific events. San Diego-based Eventful will use the funds to add additional staff in marketing, business development and engineering.
