Commonwealth Capital Ventures, a Waltham-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology businesses, has named Elliot Katzman as a general partner in the firm. Previously, Katzman was a general partner at Kodiak Venture Partners, where he focused on investments in software, Internet, and new media companies. Prior to that, he spent more than twenty years as a senior executive at various software companies. He founded and led Myteam.com, a direct marketing and new media company that merged with The Active Network and before that was CFO at SolidWorks.

In-Game Ad Firm Exent Appoints Alan Snodgrass as President

Exent Technologies, a global market solutions provider for broadband-based monetization of PC and video games, has appointed longtime Intel executive, Alan Snodgrass as its President. In this role, Alan will oversee all of Exent’s business operations from the company’s North American headquarters, in Bethesda, Maryland.

"Alan will play a key role in further driving to market Exent’s established EXEtender product line and our newly launched AdMuse in-game advertising product line,” said Zvi Levgoren, CEO, Exent Technologies in a statement.

Exent to Provide In-Game Ads for Enlight Software Titles

Tel Aviv, Israel - Israel-based Exent Technologies, a developer of in-game advertising, announced on Wednesday that Enlight Software will use its network to embed ads into game titles such as "Capitalism 2," "Restaurant Empire" and "Zoo Empire." Exent's customer list also includes Comcast, Verizon and Turner Broadcasting.

Stream Theory Sues Three Firms for Patent Infringement

Tel Aviv, Israel - Exent Technologies, a developer of in-game advertising, this week introduced software that allows firms to insert in-game ads without the need to access a video game's source code, enabling publishers to place ads in games that were not originally designed to support them. Israel-based Exent said the technology also allows revenue generation from pirated copies of video games, and from game demos.

Secure Digital Content Distribution Provider Exent Raises $3 Million

Tel Aviv -- Exent Technologies, an Israel-based start-up, said it has raised $3 million in its third financing round, led by existing investors Concord Ventures and New Enterprise Associates. To date, the firm, which develops security for the digital delivery of games and application software, has raised more than $31.5 million. Exent's flagship product is EXEtender, which allows the secure transmission of content to authorized Internet and Intranet users.
