"Family Guy" Creator in Deal with Google for Original Web Series

Los Angeles - "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane has signed a deal with Google to release a new project exclusively on the Internet, which will be syndicated via Google's AdSense system to "thousands of Web sites that are predetermined to be gathering spots for Mr. MacFarlance's target audience," The New York Times reported. MacFarlane will share in ad revenue generated by "Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy," which will debut the first of 50 two-minute episodes in September.

Los Angeles - Mobile entertainment publisher Airborne Entertainment on Monday announced the launch of "Stewie's Arsenal," a new mobile game based on the character from Fox's animated comedy "Family Guy."

Fox to Offer Episodes of "Family Guy" on Xbox Live

Beverly Hills, Calif. - Fox said on Thursday that next week it will make episodes from the first and second season of its animated comedy "Family Guy" available for purchase and download to Xbox 360 owners, through Microsoft's Xbox Live online service. Xbox Live currently offers more than 2,800 hours of programming from 30 networks and studios.

It’s rare that Hollywood studios don’t respond to a box office hit with a sequel or two. For an industry whose audience is a moving target, the sequel is one of the safest bets. And following a weekend in which The Simpsons Movie beat all expectations, including those of the folks at 20th Century Fox, it stands to reason that a series which has seen declining TV ratings of late might have found a new home on the big screen. Take a closer look at the film and the strategy seems even more plausible.

New York - 2K Games, a unit of video game publisher Take-Two Interactive, announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with Twentieth Century Fox to develop and publish games based on Fox's "Family Guy" TV series. High Voltage Software will develop the games, with collaboration from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, for release on current-generation consoles in the fall of 2006.

Las Vegas - Fox Interactive Media plans to debut a Web-only talk show featuring Stewie, the toddler character with adult sensibilities from its animated series "Family Guy," according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Internet series is slated to launch some time later this year.
