Comcast's Fancast.com Adds "South Park," Other Viacom Shows

Philadelphia - Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) announced on Monday that it has added full-length streaming episodes of Viacom-owned programs including "South Park," "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" to the offering at its Fancast.com service. As part of the deal, Comcast's video-on-demand service will also expand carriage of standard and HD content from MTV and BET.

Comcast to Offer High-Speed HD Movie Downloads

Las Vegas - Comcast (NASD: CMCSA), the nation's largest cable TV provider, on Tuesday announced plans to launch Wideband, a high-speed download service that promises to deliver full HD movie downloads in just four minutes. "Wideband takes four channels and bonds them together and will enable speeds to go up from 12-16 megabits a second to over 100 megabits a second," Comcast CEO Brian Roberts told Reuters. "If it's as successful as we plan we'll roll it out to tens of millions of home shortly thereafter."

Comcast Acquires Movie Showtimes, Ticketing Site Fandango

Philadelphia - Comcast, the nation's largest cable TV provider, announced on Wednesday that it will acquire Fandango, a movie showtimes and ticketing site that claims 4-5 million visitors per month.
